Travel Vaccinations
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you will need to complete the following steps:
1. Complete the Travel Health Questionnaire (see below) and submit online. This will be sent directly to nursing staff.
2. Please allow 7 working days for the nurse to review and assess, after which time we ask patients to call the surgery to check if any vaccines are required.
3. If an appointment is required, please call on 01202 747496. Our Travel Clinic is held on Monday afternoon between 5-6pm.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below:
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
If you are unable to see the practice nurse due to time constraints and appointment availability, the following websites may offer further help and advice:
