Screening

Cervical Cancer Screening

The current cervical screening ages and intervals are:

  • 25-49years: Every 3 years unless otherwise indicated
  • 50-64years: Every 5 years unless otherwise indicated

You will be contacted by the Cervical Screening Service.

If you fail to contact us after three attempts, we will contact you to ask if you would like to book an appointment or complete an Opt Out (Disclaimer Form) Form

All results are sent back to our practice.

Please make sure you know when your next smear is due.

Breast Cancer Screening

The current breast mammogram screening ages and intervals are:

  • 50 - 65years: Every 3 years

You will automatically be sent an appointment for this.

Please check your arrangements if in doubt.

Bowel Cancer Screening

NHS bowel cancer screening checks if you could have bowel cancer.  Everyone aged 60 to 74 years who is registered with a GP and lives in England is automatically sent an NHS bowel cancer screening kit every 2 years.

If you're 75 or over, you can ask for a kit every 2 years by phoning the free bowel cancer screening helpline on 0800 707 60 60.
